Food in Morocco

AKA GASTRONOMICAL DELIGHTS OF TAGINE

Sorry I’m getting very excited here. The tagine is hands down the favourite local dish I’ve tried anywhere EVER. Yes, beating even chicken rice in Singapore.

So, what is a tagine? Basically it’s a pot with a conical shape lid. The tagine is the name of the pot it was cooked in, like how paella is essentially the name of its pan.

You can buy it on amazon LOL

BUT ITS WHAT’S INSIDE THAT MAKES IT SO AWESOME.

Apparently the conical shape of the lid makes air flow in a circular direction, steaming its contents whilst slow cooking it at the same time. YAY SCIENCE

Because of that, I’ve had the most delicious, soft, succulent chicken I have ever tasted in my life.

Here’s the magnificent bird we had on our first day. It was slow cooked with citrus and potatoes to perfection.

Restaurants would also serve some vegetable puree of sorts as a starter. They are so delicious oh my goodness. I rarely eat eggplant because of the mushiness of it but when stewed with tomato and angel bones or whatever they put in it. IT JUST TASTES SO GOOD.

So yes, as you can tell I’m slightly very obsessed with Morocco food. When you’re there please eat copious amounts of tagine for me. BRB looking for a Moroccan restaurant.

A. TIPS: I’d really recommend for you to check out this restaurant called Azar. IT HAS THE MOST AMAZING SHISHA.

Pineapple shisha

LOOK AT IT. CLOSELY. It’s a freaking pineapple. Yea that’s right. A pineapple shisha. I’m not sure if this is seasonal but it’s the best shisha I have EVER had and I’ve had my fair share. So yes, go to Azar it’s so amazing you won’t regret it.
